Mitt Romney has a clear and concise business model which is evident through his practices at Bain Capital: Find a company which is floundering, promise this company a way out, invest money into this company in order to gain its trust, then move in on said company as a consultant, and last bankrupt it from the inside, all the while reaping massive amounts of profits that would otherwise have saved the failing company. There are many examples of this practice speckled throughout the country with countless unemployed men and women whose livelihoods were stripped from them once the companies that they worked for went under.
The economic situation of the US is really no different from those companies that Romney destroyed through Bain Capital. Currently, the massive amount of debt owed to China and other nations exceeds $15 trillion. The country is struggling to recover from the worst depression since the 1930s; unemployment is still high and job growth is still low. It is undeniable that the economy is getting better; however, it is nowhere near the point that it should be… nowhere near the surplus that it had when George W Bush took office in 2000 and subsequently destroyed it.
Let’s play a little fantasy game. Let’s say Mitt Romney just happens to win in November. Maybe voter turnout wasn’t that great for the Democrats, maybe Romney bought the election from key states, or maybe Florida rigs the ballots like they did in 2000, swinging favor to Romney when it was Obama whom the voter chose. Who knows why he won but he did. Since Romney’s business model is that of his company, Bain Capital, one must infer that he will use what he learned from his time with Bain to profit as best he can from his position as President of the United States. If the poor companies that he destroyed through Bain Capital are any indication of his tenure as president then one can be damn sure Mitt Romney will bankrupt America, walking away with billions of dollars of the American taxpayer’s money.
Granted this is all speculation of course. The mere idea that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will win on November 6, 2012 is laughable at best… but there is that small chance that they do, siting the examples I used above. Why, given everything we know about these two individuals, would anyone but the rich vote for them? Are Americans really that stupid?
The Republican Party is the laughing stock of this nation. Countries around the world see what is going on in the US and sadly shake their heads. The puritanical right wing conservatives with their war against women, their war against the freedom to practice ANY religion one chooses aside from Christianity, and their overall war against equal rights for those who do not share their same moral doctrine make the progressive nature of the United States come to a total standstill… and that is all at once depressing and frightening. If we do not stand together and defeat this fascist puritanical sect of society we are in danger of allowing them to morally as well as financially bankrupt America.
